Welcome to my brand new website, SittingErgonomics.com (formerly known as HighSpeedHealth.com).
I recently spent 5 days in a row, locked in my house with my laptop, on a creative binge to create Sitting Ergonomics. I’m incredibly proud of the website’s design and content. I’m charged up about the future and this quick article will tell ya about it.
Thanks for joining me on this journey. I respect your inbox and promise to only email you crucial content that’ll improve your quality of life. That is, if you’re on my email list. If you’re not on my list, sign up to get my free updates here or at SittingErgonomics.com/newsletter.
Quick back story:
When I started my original website (High Speed Health) in 2012, I had no idea what my specific focus would be. I just knew:
- I wanted to solve my multiple health problems caused by sitting at a desk.
- I wanted to help other people improve their quality of life.
- I was so passionate that I would make a career out of it one day.
Back in 2012, I broke out a notebook and started documenting what would turn out to be a powerful transformation of healing.
I’ve finally realized what my specific focus will be: Sitting Ergonomics.
ergonomics [noun] – the study of people’s efficiency in their working environment (definition credit: Google).
I’ve broken down Sitting Ergonomics into these 8 categories.
- Body Awareness
- Sleep Quality
- Self Healing
- Professional Healing
All of them are directly related to the pain and repetitive strain injuries that are caused by sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
I’m a big fan of taking a big problem and dissecting it into a bunch of small attainable solutions.
Everything I talk about, I’ve learned it during my own personal experience. My 12+ year career includes a few stagnant, stressful desk jobs that were 40+ hours per week. That’s more than 27,000 hours at a desk, not including any grade school or college!
Sitting Ergonomics has essentially been a huge undertaking with an incredibly rewarding outcome. I’ve received massive long-term results by persistently sticking to small daily habit changes.
Proper sitting ergonomics didn’t only decrease my everyday pain. It improved my productivity, energy, posture, mental clarity, flexibility, strength, and range of motion. I want to share my story and best practices to heal current pain and prevent future injuries (caused by sitting at a desk).
My mission is to make Sitting Ergonomics easy to understand and quick to implement.
Talk to ya soon!
